Court releases ex-Economic Minister Ulyukayev early on parole
RYAZAN, Apr 29 (PRIME) -- A court in the city of Tver has released Russia’s former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev early on parole, a representative of the court told PRIME on Friday.
“Yes, (the court) has considered, the result is positive,” the person said.
In December 2017, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow found Ulyukayev guilty of receiving a U.S. $2 million bribe for a positive outlook on privatization of oil company Bashneft by oil major Rosneft. Ulyukayev pleaded not guilty and said it was a setup organized by Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin and the Federal Security Service.
